BESPOKE DESIGN SERVICES

STEP 1: CONSULTATION, free of charge

We get together to discuss all the details of your piece(s). This can be done in person or virtually. We encourage you to collect and share any inspiration and reference photos you may have to better convey what you’re looking for.

Some areas to cover can include, but are not limited to:

Is there a specific event or occasion you’d like to have it ready for?
If so, what are the dates?
What fabrics, colours, finishes are you interested in? Which do you not like?
What is your budget?

STEP 2: DESIGN PROPOSAL, $150-300 depending on the complexity of the design(s)

Based on our consultation, a design proposal will be created for you. These proposals range from $150-300 depending on the complexity of the design. Following payment for the proposal, material options will be sourced and included in a detailed proposal which will include drawings, measurements, and as much information as possible, to give you a thorough idea of the proposed design(s) and price points.  Usually more than one option is given so you can compare and decide which is best for you.

During this process, we may share photos of materials we come across during sourcing for you to approve while we develop your design proposal, using Whatsapp, Messenger, or IG dms. Please let us know if there is a preferred platform for you, as there can be several photos passed back and forth.  If you provide the material for the project, this will lessen the total price of the proposal, as it will exclude the sourcing part of this step.

Small pieces start at $300 - simple, unlined pieces such as a tank top, t-shirt, tote bag, clutch, etc.

Large pieces start at $600 - more complex pieces such as pants, dresses, bags with multiple straps, anything lined, etc.

Costs are always exclusive of materials. Upon approval, there will be a 50% deposit required upfront, with the remaining 50% +materials due upon completion/pick up of the piece(s). All receipts are kept for you, and included in the final invoice.

STEP 3: APPROVAL OF DESIGN PROPOSAL, PATTERNS, MOCKS & FITTINGS

Upon approval of the design(s) of your choice, and the 50% deposit made, the next step would be patterns, mocks, and fittings. Whether you are having a garment or a bag made, a pattern will be made, along with a mock version made in a less expensive material, usually muslin for garments, and paper for bags. Mocks are used for fittings to ensure it will be the exact size and dimensions you require. More than one mock and fitting may be needed to ensure the right fit. After achieving the right fit and details, the next step would be to produce the piece using the actual materials.

STEP 4: PRODUCTION OF THE ACTUAL PIECE(S)

Production of your piece(s) will begin. Some fittings are expected with the actual material. Once the accurate fit is achieved, the piece(s) will be completed with all the agreed upon elements.  You will be notified when your piece(s) is ready for pick up. The final invoice will be sent to you, including the final 50% and materials.

STEP 5: TIME TO PICK UP YOUR PIECE(S)!

After final payment for the piece(s) has been made, you will be notified that your piece(s) is ready for pick up. There will be one final fitting to ensure the piece(s) is exactly as you like it. Any additional finishing touches that do not steer from the original design concepts can be completed, if needed.

STEP 6: ADDITIONAL PIECE(S) WITH THE SAME PATTERN(S), optional

Now that we have developed a pattern(s) to your liking, additional pieces can be made using the same pattern for 60% of the original cost, (excluding the cost for the design proposal). Materials are always additional.
